Mentoring A Girl In Construction

MAGIC Summer Camp

MAGIC Summer Camp is a partnership between Missouri Women in Trades (MOWIT), National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and Carpenters' Joint Apprenticeship Program (CJAP), with sponsorship support provided by local construction business and industry.  MAGIC Summer Camp is designed to offer high school girls the opportunity to learn about the various avenues of employment for women in the construction industry.  Through hands-on training, the girls learn basic carpentry, electrical, and welding skills; perform and accomplish challenging tasks; and build their self-confidence and self-image.

Ms. Fix-It Workshop

MOWIT offers Ms. Fix-It Workshops for girls ages 7-13. How does it work and how can I fix it? These questions and more are answered in this interactive workshop that includes several activities, which introduce girls to the idea that building and fixing are "girl jobs". The highlight of the workshop is building a stool that the girls get to take home.

Workshops are offered throughout the year, or we can schedule a special workshop just for your group. The cost for the workshop is $300, and maximum number of participants is 32. Your group must provide one adult assistant for every 5 participants. For more information, please contact us at (314) 963-3200 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
